First Nations Business Mission inaugurated to promote mining partnership between Australia and India
New Delhi, October 24 (IANS). Australia is launching its first First Nations business mission to India this month, which will run from October 26 to November 3. The mission aims to expand trade and investment opportunities between Australia’s First Nations peoples (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples) and India’s mining and renewable energy sectors. The mission is led by the Perth USAsia Center and the Western Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the full support of the Australian Government. Eight Australian companies are participating in this mission, involved in mining equipment, technology and services sector. The special thing is that all these companies are owned by Australian First Nation communities. These companies will visit Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata from October 26, so that new avenues of partnership can be opened between the two countries. First Nations peoples are one of the world’s oldest civilizations, with a history dating back more than 65,000 years. He was Australia’s first diplomat, businessman and innovator, and the companies involved in this mission carry on his legacy. These companies have expertise in a number of areas, such as converting diesel mine vehicles to electric, manufacturing chemicals to increase fuel efficiency, safety solutions, industrial gases, engineering and technical services. In India, these companies will present their technology and innovation, especially in the mining and clean energy sectors. During the mission, the delegation will visit Mumbai (October 26-28), New Delhi (October 28-30) and Kolkata (October 30-November 2). In Kolkata, he will participate in the International Mining, Equipment and Minerals Exhibition, where he will showcase his expertise. Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, said of the mission: “We are committed to advancing Indigenous rights and strengthening First Nations business. India’s fast-growing economy offers huge opportunities for Australian First Nations entrepreneurs, whether it’s mining solutions, clean energy or exporting art and design.” He said the Australian Government supports this mission, which will connect First Nation excellence with emerging businesses in India. This mission is an important step towards strengthening economic and cultural relations between the two countries.
