Such a mysterious place, where birds do suicide ...

There are many mysterious places in India, which very few people know. One of these is the Dima Hasao district in the southern part of Assam, where a small town named Jatinga still remains a mystery to scientists and tourists. The most shocking thing about this town is the mysterious ‘suicide’ of birds that occur every year. Jatinga comes in a special discussion every year between September and November, when dozens of birds flying here in the darkness of the night. This series has been going on for many years and now this town has become the center of mystery, folklore and scientific curiousness. Light is made in the darkness of the night. This unique incident of Jatinga is seen especially in the nights of Krishna Paksha between September and November. If there is a fog from 19:00 to 10 or 10:30 hours, if the wind speed is fast and any bright light is seen in the area, then it is fatal for birds. During this time, the herds of birds are influenced by an invisible force and draw it to the light and fall directly to the ground. Many birds die there, while some are injured and suffer. According to the locals, this is a kind of “suicide”, but scientists look from a different perspective to the event. Because of the natural and scientific perspective, Jatinga Village is located at the peak of the town of Borel Hills, where there is heavy rainfall throughout the year and there are dense forests and high mountains around. There is a collection of excessive moisture and dense fog in this region. According to scientists, when birds fly in these conditions, their body is completely wet and takes off their flight ability. The dense and chopped forests of bamboo here are also even more dangerous for birds. Due to haze, darkness and bright light, bird direction confuses and clashes with trees, shrubs or land that flies quickly to the light, causing them to die. Scientists consider it a ‘disorientation’ or a direction of confusion. The incident occurs especially in migrant and local birds of more than 40 species. Many of these species come here every year, but do not come back. Although this incident of local culture and vigilance Jatinga is a matter of research for scientists, the locals were a symbol of mystery and fear. Years ago, it was considered an ominous sign and people believed that it was the influence of a divine power. But now awareness has increased over time and scientific research has exposed this mystery to a certain extent. Now special vigilance is taken at night in Jatinga. Due to the increasing number of tourists in the town, the Night access is also prohibited so that birds can be protected from unnecessary lights. In addition, the Assam Tourism Section and the Forest Division also conducted awareness campaigns in the region to protect the birds and understand this unique incident without being damaged. The mysterious puzzle of Nature Jatinga Village has now become a tourist attraction because of the unique mystery, but the truth behind it also teaches us that some things of nature still fall outside the scope of science. This phenomenon not only indicates the miracles of nature, but also shows that people need technology as well as natural balance and sensitivity. Towns like Jatinga teach us that something is hidden in every corner of the world that is unknown even today and that a person must constantly try to understand.
