New -delhi, October 13 (IANS). Taiwanese contract manufacturing company Foxconn has announced that it would invest Rs 15,000 crore in Tamil Nadu. This will create opportunities for 14,000 jobs with high value in the state. State Industries Minister Trb Raja gave this information on Monday. According to the State Minister, this is the biggest commitment ever for engineering opportunities in Tamil Nadu and will boost the electronic and advanced manufacturing sector of Tamil Nadu. “The highest engineering work in Tamil Nadu. Foxconn has committed to investing Rs 15,000 crore in Tamil Nadu and will create 14,000 jobs with high value. Engineers are ready,” Raja said on the social media platform Raja said that Foxconn through this investment, Foxconn, the next stage value, R&D Advanced technology operations will bring to Tamil Nadu. He said Foxconn’s India representative, Robert Wu, met and explained the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, about the company’s investment plans in the state. To support the growth trips of the business, Tamil Nadu’s guidelines for investment promotion agencies will set up the first Foxconn desk in India. The Union Minister said that this desk will ensure a smooth functioning and implementation of projects, calling it a step towards ‘Dravidian Model 2.0’. The announcement came after Robert Wu met the Chief Minister of Karnataka in Bengaluru last Sunday. During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen Foxconn’s presence in Karnataka and investigate new opportunities in manufacturing and technology cooperation.
