New -Delhi, June 18 (IANS). It has been agreed to restore diplomatic representation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Canada Prime Minister Mark Karney by appointing new high commissioners for both countries on the side of the G-7 summit. Vikramjit Singh Sahni, MP of Punjab, welcomed it between the two countries on Wednesday and described it as a very important reflection. Sahni, who describes it as a ‘very important setback’, said that this positive step will to a large extent reduce the problems of Indian citizens, especially NRI brothers and sisters, who have been waiting for regular and timely visa services for their families and motherland. At this new association, Sahni said that the trading of bilateral goods in 2024 amounted to more than $ 8.2 billion and that Canadian investment in India amounts to more than $ 55 billion, there is plenty of room to expand cooperation. Sahni said in a statement here: “India imports 63 percent of its needs from Canada and is a large consumer of lentils and edible oils. With the restoration of diplomatic general condition, we must activate this economic gait to serve the interests of both countries.” In fact, Prime Minister Modi met Canadian counterpart Mark Carney at a major bilateral meeting with the aim of reviving stressful relations between the two countries on the sidelines of the G-7 Summit in Kananascis, Canada.
