Seven men accused of experiencing a girl in January 2024 received a great welcome from supporters upon their release from prison in Karnataka’s Haveri district on Wednesday, May 21, night. The celebration, which includes a march with cars, music and victory signs, drew widespread outrage. The five-car convoy of the gang rape of the gang rape took out the victory parade by the Akki Alur City by at least 20 supporters. Videos of the Victory Parade showed that one of the accused of the gang rape stands through the sunroof of a car, as supporters on bikes and moving in cars through a road, with flashing victories. Local police noted the case and booked all seven men for illegal meeting. They were identified as Aftab Chandanakatti, Madar Saab Mandakki, Samiwulla Lalanavar, Mohammad Sadiq Agasimani, Shoib Mulla, Tausip Choti and Riyaz Savikeri. The Haveri Superintendent of the Police (SP) Amshu Kumar informed that the accused involved in the march will be arrested soon. “The incident came under our notice. A FIR is registered against all seven for organizing the march without permission. They will soon be arrested and produced before the court,” he said. The case dates back to January 2024 when several men went through a hotel room of an interfaith couple. The case initially appeared to be one of moral policing, but the woman later claimed to have been taken to a forest for violence and with a corridor. Read also | Who is Shivalik Sharma? The woman also identified the seven men. The accused has been in a judicial custody for the past 17 months, but this year she did not identify the accused that led to their bail during the court proceedings.
