From Nine Inch Nails To Depeche Mode
Throne: Aresa sequel ten years in the making to 2010’s Tron: Legacy film, roared into theaters Oct. 10 with Jared Leto as the star AI program Ares, Greta Lee starring as ENCOM CEO Eve Kim, Evan Peters as Julian Dillinger, grandson of the original Throne film’s big bad, and more.
Jodie Turner-Smith plays Ares’ right-hand soldier Athena. Gillian Anderson appears as Elisabeth Dillinger, daughter of David Warner’s Ed Dillinger. Hasan Minhaj plays Ajay Singh, ENCOM’s CTO, and Arturo Castro portrays Seth Flores. Cameron Monaghan plays the program Caius. As Eve and Julian via Ares fight over a code for permanence that could turn Ares from code to human, stunt sequences involving contraptions from the familiar light cycle to a boat and submarine hybrid, and many moments are backed by needle drops from Nine Inch Nails, who scored the film, or others. The American industrial rock band helmed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross followed in the footsteps of Daft Punk’s scoring Tron: Legacy (2010).
