Mumbai, October 18 (IANS). Many films are released at the box office on the occasion of Diwali. Due to the festive season and people’s holidays, filmmakers try to take advantage of this opportunity. In this some films are hits and others are flops. Let us know about those films released on the occasion of Diwali which grossed a lot at the box office and were called blockbusters. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: Karan Johar entered Bollywood as a director through this film. It starred stars like Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Kajol in lead roles. Released during Diwali in October 1998, this film grossed around Rs 91 crore. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: This film starring Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan and Kajol was released in October 1995. His story settled in the hearts of the audience and even today the audience loves to watch it. This film earned around Rs 90 crore. Krrish 3: Starring Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut, the film was one of the biggest hits of 2013. It was also released on the occasion of Diwali. It collected Rs 244 crore. Golmaal 3: Famous director Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Golmaal 3’ is also included in this list. This comedy film was released in 2010. It earned Rs 169 crore at the box office. Happy New Year: The collaboration of Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone was seen in this film. Farah Khan directed it. It collected Rs 383 crore. This movie was released in 2014. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: This film starring Bollywood star Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor was a box office hit. It was released in 2015 on Diwali. It earned Rs 378 crore. Raja Hindustani: This film with Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor created history by becoming the highest grosser at the box office in 1996. It was also released on Diwali.
