From voting to counting, strict monitoring and security of EVMs will be ensured. The EVMs will be kept in impenetrable security rooms, where there will be 24-hour surveillance by armed guards and CCTV cameras. The administration is committed to holding free and fair elections. The district administration has now started to finalize the preparations for the assembly elections. District Election Officer with DM Dr. Thyagarajan SM and SSP Karthikeya K Sharma along with nodal officials of various cells inspected AN College, the most important center of this election process, on Sunday. In view of this, AN College has been declared a high security zone and multi-level arrangements are being made for surveillance and security. The officers inspected the site on Sunday and reviewed all the arrangements including CCTV surveillance command centre, control room, barricade, fire brigade, medical team, help desk and lighting system. Instructed the officers to improve on all aspects. Also clarified that no negligence at any level will be tolerated to maintain fairness and transparency of elections. For this they should ensure that all the guidelines of the Central Election Commission are followed in letter and spirit. On the sixth, traffic, law and order and crowd control were the top priority. Dr. Thiagarajan while inspecting the Vajragriha, counting room, reception desk, barrier, help desk, trap door etc. said that AN College is very important from the electoral point of view. There is also booth number 18 of Bankipur Assembly where voting will take place. Apart from this, EVMs will be collected from all the booths after polling and the counting of votes will take place on 14. Thousands of officials, security personnel, vehicles and voters will be around it during voting and counting. In such a situation, traffic, law and order and crowd control will be the top priority of the administration. Instructions to cells for better coordination: The district magistrate asked the nodal officers of District Election Coordination Cell, Personnel Cell, Media Cell, Material Cell, EVM Cell, Law and Order Cell, Model Code of Conduct Cell and Personnel Welfare Cell to work with better communication and coordination among themselves. After voting, easy and safe storage of EVM-VVPAT should be ensured and proper training should be given to the concerned personnel. Special instructions were given regarding CCTV surveillance, efficient fire fighting arrangements, uninterrupted power supply, emergency medical team, public address system, help desk, cleanliness and lighting arrangements at the counting room.
