Fwice objection to prohibit on 'Bengal files' in Western Bengals

Mumbai, September 8 (IANS). The Federation of Western Indian Cine employees (FWICE) expressed deep concerns about the informal ban on the display of the film ‘Bengal Files’ in Western Bengals. The organization, which represents 36 associations related to the film industry and thousands of members, said that this ban is not only against the law, but that it is also an open offense of the established process of film performance in India. In a press release issued by Fwice, it said it is a very shocking thing that a film received properly from the censorship board is stopped without any official order. It is a direct attack on freedom of expression and is a violation of the right to creative freedom given in the Constitution of the country. Fwice also raised serious questions about the theater owners who follow this inexplicable order. The organization said that such steps not only suppress creative votes, but also take away the democratic rights of the general public under which they can decide what they want to see and what is not. Fwice has called on the government to take note of this -official prohibition and to ensure that the ‘Bengal files’ can be selected throughout the Western Bengals without any interruption. The organization has called on all the state owners of the state to start showing the film without any fear or pressure. Fwice said it is the result of the hard work, investment and creativity of filmmakers, which is unfairly unfair. Fwice also called on Solidarity with the producers of the film, and also called on producer organizations across the country to oppose this illegal ban. At the end of the press release, Fwice made it clear that it would not tolerate an attempt at creative freedom. -Ians VKU/DSC shares this story Tags
