Gearing up to trounce Mamata over infiltration and corruption, RSS-BJP to wave saffron in West Bengal, big assembly ahead of elections

An important meeting of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) officials and BJP leaders was held at the RSS headquarters in Kolkata regarding the preparations for the West Bengal Assembly elections. This marathon meeting took place on October 15 in a secret manner at the RSS headquarters. The preparations for the upcoming elections were reviewed in detail in the meeting. The Minister of Organization of Bengal submitted a report saying that the party’s organizational structure and preparations up to the booth level have become much stronger compared to the previous elections. According to the discussion, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the leaders and workers for the 2021 elections, but the preparation on the ground was poor compared to this time. This shortcoming has been removed. According to the strategy, the party will campaign aggressively to expose the policy failure of the state government and the corruption prevalent in the state, and will also stay away from personal attacks on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. During the discussion, it was decided that the focus will now be on building motivation and trust among local workers and supporters. Efforts will be made to bring back enthusiasm and confidence among the workers who were scared and afraid of the violence that took place in Bengal after the last assembly elections. Infiltration and corruption from Bangladesh will be made the main issue. Under the joint strategy of BJP and RSS, national security and demographic imbalance in the border areas will be made the main issue in the Bengal elections. Bangladeshi infiltration will be raised among the public by linking it to state stability, employment and law and order. The party believes that infiltration has affected the social and economic structure of the state and it is important to make it part of the larger public debate. The meeting also decided to launch a special campaign to emphasize the support and involvement of the local administration to stop infiltration in the border areas. This campaign will bring forward data, local incidents and ground reports to convince the public that the Mamata Banerjee government is not failing to stop this infiltration but is acting quietly and submissively. Major public awareness campaign on changing demography The organizational machinery of RSS and BJP has been entrusted with the task of launching a public awareness campaign on changing demography (demographic shift) in different districts of the state. Its purpose is to tell people how vote bank politics is rapidly changing the demographic balance in some areas, thereby increasing cultural and social imbalance. Issues of Economic Distress and Youth Migration: According to reports, the economy of Bengal is continuously weakening. Investments are at a standstill, new industries are failing and a large number of youths are leaving the state in search of work. BJP will make it a key issue of its campaign to show that the government that promised change has brought the state back on the economic front. Preparations to target ministers involved in corruption It was agreed in the meeting that allegations of corruption against ministers and senior officials of the state government would be specifically disclosed. Cases like teacher recruitment scam, irregularities related to coal and sand mining and misuse of funds in government schemes will be cited as examples. Street agitation on women’s safety and increasing incidents of rape: The party is preparing to organize street agitation on the increasing crimes against women in the state. Plans to hold large-scale protests, public awareness campaigns and local rallies led by Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha were discussed. Its aim is to show that the Mamata Banerjee government has completely failed in the issue of women’s safety and that the law and order situation in the state is constantly deteriorating. There will be Hindu Parishads in Bengal. Local BJP leaders will actively participate in different RSS programmes. There are also plans to increase the role of local party leaders in various programs to celebrate the centenary of RSS. According to sources, there will be separate Hindu councils in North Bengal and South Bengal in January next year as well. According to the outcome of the meeting, both BJP and RSS organizations will now focus on strong booth management and public relations campaign in Bengal so that their grassroots can be important in the state election process this time. These leaders of RSS and BJP were present. On behalf of RSS, Joint Secretary General Arun Kumar, Regional Pracharak and State Pracharak participated in the meeting. Bengal election chief Bhupendra Yadav, co-captain Biplab Dev, state chief Sunil Bansal and co-captain Amit Malviya were present on behalf of BJP. Organization Minister Amitabh Chakraborty and Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari participated from the state side. The State President could not attend the meeting due to health reasons.
