Jakarta – The Pejaten Police’s Food Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) has obtained a sanitary hygiene certificate (SLHS) as well as a halal certificate from the National Police and the Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency (BPJH). SPPG Polri has received appreciation from various parties for the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) in the preparation, serving and distribution of free nutritious food (FMF) to school children. “The President has ordered that every SPPG has a rapid test kit that can be used to test cooked food before distribution, and this has been implemented at SPPGs built by the National Police,” Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana said during a joint meeting at the DPR some time ago. Apart from Dadan, member of Commission IX DPR RI Irma Suryani Chaniago also has the same opinion. He realized that SPPG Polri never had any ‘cases’ because his kitchen met standards. In data received by detikcom on Friday (24/10/2025), Polri ensures that every process at SPPG is safe, hygienic and environmentally friendly, in accordance with national food safety standards. SPPG Polri’s operational activities begin with personnel arrival procedures. All employees and volunteers are required to enter the production area through a special door, change shoes, store items in lockers, wash their hands and wear full personal protective equipment. This step is a form of police discipline and compliance with the principles of occupational hygiene and safety. The next phase is the receipt of raw materials. Incoming food ingredients are checked by Quality Control Officers and National Police nutritionists to ensure quantity, quality, freshness and storage temperature. If material does not meet standards, separate it immediately and report it. Materials that pass are stored in cold, dry or wet warehouses, according to their category. All cooking utensils and equipment are ensured to be clean, dry and sterile, under the supervision of Quality Control Officers and National Police nutritionists. The food processing process is carried out at a minimum temperature standard of 74 degrees Celsius so that it is perfectly cooked and safe for consumption. The Police SPPG also applies the rule that food must be processed and served no more than four hours before consumption time. To ensure food safety, the Police SPPG applies strict food safety standards which are directly supervised by the Police Docks. Inspections are carried out through rapid food tests for nitrite, cyanide, arsenic and formalin content, microbiological tests and chemical tests to detect bacterial contamination such as E. coli and Salmonella, as well as to ensure that there are no dangerous chemicals. A 100 gram sample is taken from each menu, labeled and stored for 24 hours as a National Police security archive. Next, during the packaging and distribution, the food is packed in airtight food grade containers, then given an identity label, then loaded into closed logistics vehicles belonging to the National Police. On arrival at the location, officers handed over the food via the Handover Minutes (BAST) to ensure that each recipient received rations according to the official list. After the MBG is consumed, the National Police’s SPPG team manages the breakdown and leftover food. The equipment is returned, sorted, weighed, and then goes through a multi-layered washing and sterilization process – using hot water, food-grade soap, food-safe disinfectant, and a high-temperature oven to kill pathogenic microorganisms, then a drying process using a food tray. The sterilized equipment is stored in a locked clean room until it is ready to be used again. Environmentally friendly SPPG Besides ensuring good food quality and MBG distribution, the National Police SPPG is also responsible for the environment, because the National Police SPPG also uses a modern biotank system to process organic and liquid waste before disposal. This step is the National Police’s commitment to maintaining a clean environment, reducing pollution and implementing the principles of a sustainable healthy kitchen. Accept criticism and suggestions Apart from daily internal monitoring, SPPG Polri also conducts post-deployment evaluations. After the food is eaten, a daily evaluation checklist is prepared to ask about the condition of the food, level of satisfaction and the expectations of the beneficiary students. This input, he said, is the basis for continuous improvement so that the National Police’s feeding services are better and more on target. Currently, the Pejaten National Police SPPG has obtained a sanitary hygiene certificate (SLHS) as well as a halal certificate from the Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency (BPJH). Apart from that, the Pejaten National Police SPPG is also in the process of obtaining ISO 22000 and HACCP certification as international food safety standards. The plan is for all National Police SPPGs in various regions to have certification in the future. Polri emphasized that it will continue to ensure that every food processed and distributed by SPPG Polri is safe, healthy, nutritious and environmentally friendly. (zap/day)
