Many important decisions in the Jharkhand Cabinet meeting, 774 crore sanctioned for the North Koyal Reservoir project
Ranchi, September 24 (IANS). Several important decisions were made at the meeting of the Jharkhand Council of Ministers Wednesday chaired by Hemant Hemant Soren. Among them, schemes such as education, irrigation, energy, consumer interest, women’s safety and rehabilitation have been approved. It was decided at the meeting that the Government Polytechnic College of Ranchi would be developed as a state -of -the -art institute. For this, an amount of about Rs 98 crore was approved. The proposal to open the NDPs (narcotic drugs and psychotropic substation) police in five districts of Ranchi, Chatra, Jamshedpur, Khunti and Hazaribagh to combat opium and drug trafficking in the Cabinet was approved in the Cabinet. 774.55 Crore was approved to complete martyr Nilambar-Pitambar North Koyal Reservoir project in Palamu. This project will increase irrigation facilities in the Palamu and Laathar districts. It was also decided at the meeting that 780 families from seven towns affected by the Mandal Dam project in the Palamu Tiger Reserve area would be rehabilitated. To further strengthen the education infrastructure in the state, new school buildings will be built on the lines of Netarhat Residential School in Chaaibasa, Dumka and Bokaro. The expenses of more than Rs 116 crore were approved on this. In addition, it was also decided to increase the honorarium of staff of Kasturba Gandhi Girls School and Jharkhand Girls Residential School. Four New Forest Stop centers will be opened in the state’s giridih, coda, West Singhbhum and Palamu for female safety. It was also agreed to extend the service period of assistant police for one year. A revised administrative approval of approximately Rs 69 crore was given for the Sahebganj Urban Water Supply Scheme.
