Gift to Ujjwala beneficiaries on Diwali, 1.86 crore families benefited from the gas subsidy of Rs 1,500 crore.
Gautam Buddha Nagar, October 15 (IANS). On the pleasant occasion of Diwali, the government made a big announcement for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Gas cylinder refill subsidy of Rs 1.500 crore was released to 1.86 crore -appropriate families across the state in a state level program organized at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow chaired by the main minister Yogi Adityanath. This program is directly in the NIC Auditorium at Gautam Buddha Nagar Collectorate, where the district officials and the beneficiaries present looked at the direct broadcast. In the district level program organized chaired by district magistrate Medha Rupam, symbolic checks of subsidy for gas refulling were distributed to the women from the Ujjwala scheme. During this, the district magistrate said: “Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana increased respect and facilities in the lives of mothers and sisters by removing smoke from the kitchen. This subsidy received at a pleasant opportunity, such as Diwali, reflects the public welfare thinking of the government.” Smriti Gautam, district supply officer, said that among the Ujjwala scheme will be provided in two phases. The first phase will work from October to December 2025 and the second phase will work from January to March 2026. Under the first phase of the program in the district, symbolic investigations of the subsidy amount of Rs 550.5 were given to 25 beneficiaries. He said that the price of 14.2 kg LPG is Rs 850.5, of which Rs 550.5 will be provided by the Central Government by the State Government and the remaining Rs 300. With this, the beneficiaries will almost get the cylinder free of cost, which will ensure financial relief during the festive season. Additional District Magistrate’s Finance and Income Atul Kumar, Inspectors of the Department of Offer and other officers and a large number of beneficiary women were present in the program.
