Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Catch Up: What Happened Last Season

When I first heard of Ginny & GeorgiaI thought it was going to be a sweet and Hallmark-y story about an interracial family and the growing pains of a teenage girl in high school. But no, it felt like a cold glass of water splashed onto my face as I found out that people are getting murdered on this show. Why?! I thought the characters would be killing people with kindness, not through suffocation. When we last saw Ginny and Georgia in the season-two finale, Georgia was arrested for the murder of Tom during her own wedding. A true cliffhanger! And it wasn’t even her first time killing someone — despite Georgia having good intentions with her murders. But now, we finally have an answer as to what happened with Georgia, as season three is out right now on Netflix.

Getting Georgia out of jail, duh! Georgia will be on trial for Tom’s murder as Ginny tries to find a way to help make her mom seem … less guilty. The family also has to figure out how to protect themselves from Gil, Georgia’s abusive ex-husband and Austin’s dad. “Season three is our most ambitious and explosive season yet,” show creator Sarah Lampert told Tudum. “Going into it, we knew our core driving force isn’t the plot twists and turns, but the emotional truth of these two women. We care about these characters, they are messy and complicated and real, and that’s why we’re invested in the wild season they’re about to go through.”

Georgia suffocated a comatose Tom, Cynthia’s husband, as a way of repaying kindness from Cynthia — in Georgia’s eyes, she was doing Cynthia a favor, as she had expressed that she wished her husband’s suffering would be over. However, when she suffocated him with a pillow, her child, Austin, witnessed the murder, and as she’s arrested at her wedding, it’s not totally clear who turned her in.

There are two new recurring faces: Ty Doran, who plays a “laid back” student in Ginny’s pottery class, and Noah Lamanna, a skateboarding friend of Marcus and Silver. Because, again, Ginny’s in high school so she still has to go to class.
