Teachers and employees of Vinoba Bhave University can get the benefit of the health insurance scheme of the government of Jharkhand. At 2023, the Jharkhand government issued a letter to offer benefits of health insurance to the teachers and employees of the University. In the letter issued from the signature of the then health secretary Arun Kumar Singh, it was made clear that it would provide its benefits to regular teachers and employees working at the university. Unfortunately, the university went through a period of caregivers vice -chancellors and, as a result, no concrete initiative was taken in this direction. The university took the initiative in this direction after Professor Chandra Bhushan Sharma took over as vice -chancellor. Dr. Avinash Kumar, chair of the Department of Botany, is the nodal officer in the issue of health insurance. On the vice -chancellor’s instructions, Dr. Avinash Kumar took part in the workshop related to Ranchi on May 22 and held the university’s side. It was said in the workshop that the university in the first phase will have to give its consent letter in this regard by May 31. The teachers and employees of the universities who do not give consent letters will be deprived of the benefits of this scheme. In the second phase, the university will have to provide databases with its teachers and employees. Below there will be a list of teachers and employees who want to use health insurance. Under the government’s health insurance scheme, health insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh will be available to everyone and instead a premium of Rs 500 per month will be deducted. That is, the coverage of health insurance of up to five lakh calls is available for 6,000 rupees. It is a fact that this health insurance of up to five lakhs will be available to their dependent parents, husband or wife, unmarried girl and son under the age of 25.
