Google Chrome to automatically dampen notifications of ignored websites on Android and Desktop

Google introduces a new Chrome feature for Android and Tabletop that automatically ignores users using websites that users use. The update, built into Chrome’s safety test instrument, is aimed at reducing the fatigue of notice by recalling low involvement websites. Google Chrome’s new auto-recording feature will help notices about websites that are rarely interacting with to reduce the digital junk. Photographer: Andrey Rudakov/Bloomberg (Bloomberg) Google is performing a new Chrome browser feature for Android and Table computers that will automatically eliminate websites notifications that regularly ignore users, according to various reports. The function, which builds on Chrome’s existing safety control instrument, is designed to reduce ‘notice -fatigue’ and improve the browsing experience. According to reports, Chrome’s safety control feature already offers users’ control over sensitive consents such as camera access and location tracking. The new update extends the functionality to website notices, and automatically revokes consent for websites that send excessive warnings with little or no involvement. How it works is the auto-recording feature reflects an existing Android capability that allows users to easily log out of website notifications with a single tap. However, this will not affect the web apps installed on the device. Notifications will only be disabled for websites that send a large amount of warnings with which users are rarely interacting. Reports have quoted Google as that less than 1% of all web notices in Chrome receive any user interaction, suggesting that most pop-up alerts are being ignored. Google: ‘Significant Reduction in Notification Overload’ ‘We have already tested this feature. Our test results show a significant reduction in notice overload with only minimal change in total notice clicks, ‘Google said in the announcement, as reported. “Our experiments also indicate that websites that send a lower volume of notifications actually see an increase in clicks.” Users stay in control Chrome users can still choose to completely eliminate the auto recording feature. They can also enable specific websites notifications by reviewing or adjusting consent via Chrome’s safety control menu. Google has not yet announced a specific roll -out date for the feature, but it is expected to reach all users in an upcoming browser update.
