‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ TV Series is happening at Amazon – ryan

Amazon is going all-in on Sony Pictures Television’s Adaptation of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The new series, based on the Crane-Sron Series by novelist Wang Dulu (which was famously turned into an ang lee movie back in 2000), will be created and produced by Lucifer and Mrs. Davis writer Jason ning as well as the prolific and acclaimed executive producer of Outlander and Battlestar Galactica fame, Ronald D. Moore.
The Series has been in the Works Since 2023, with Moore Hopping Aboard Ning’s Vision Sometime Last Year, according to Deadline‘S Exclusive Reporting. Both Moore and Ning have overall deals with Sony Pictures Television, and Worked Together on the Epic Science Fiction Series The Expanese Back in 2016. Since Then, Moore Has Gone On To Create Series Like For all mankindand ning wrote several episodes or Mrs. Davis and was a co-executive producer on The Brothers Sun. That Netflix Series Starred Michelle Yeoh, Who Famously Starred as Yu Shu Lien in the Ang Lee Adaptation of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The inter-Connectedness of this iteration is hard to deny, no?

Sony is developing a crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Series, which will adapt the crane-iron series by Wang Dulu.
The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Television Series will be involved in counting the stories of all five of the novels that make up dulu’s most popular series, the crane-iron series (or which Crouching Tiger was the fourth installment). The interconnected novels tell the story of four generations of youxia, or “Wandering Heroes” or Ancient China. Each novel contains aspects that link it to the others, which makes it an easy sell for the television format.
Set in the 19th century Qing Dynasty in China, the film iteration follows a legendary warrior, Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun-Fat) and his lover, Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh), after He Tasks Her With Delivation His Coveted Sword, The Green Destiny, To Safety. After the Sword is stolen by a mysterious thief, li sets out to retrieve it, taking her on an epic journey filled with love, betrayal, and lots of martial arts.
But if you are expecting a re-Hash of Lee’s 2000 Film Adaptation, or even something akin to Netflix’s film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Sword of Destiny – Think again. While the lee movie did include elements from the other books in the series, and also took many liberties with the novel: it is said that lee pitched it as a Sense and sensibility By Jane Austen Adaptation, only with Martial Arts. And as for The Sword of Destiny? Well, that one mostly focused on the story in the final book, Iron Knight, Silver Vases. There are still three other books in lulu’s series that have yet to be adapted for a screen of any child.
Executive producing the series alongside ning and Moore are Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, Johnny Levin, Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, as well as Hong Wang and Qin Wang of the Wang Dulu Estate. Ying Lou is Co-Executive Producing.
