Government starts 6 month internship programs for new graduates

Jakarta – Minister of Manpower Yassierli launched an apprenticeship program for university students. This program was included in one of the 8,2025 economic acceleration packages rolled out by the government to strengthen labor skills and evenly encourage economic growth in Indonesia. This program is intended for fresh graduates, both diploma and scientists. The goal is to prepare talents for work, accelerate the survey of trained labor and increase their competitiveness. “We want a new graduate (fresh graduate) to master not only the theory, but also be able to apply skills in real projects in the business,” Yassierli said in a written statement on Monday (9/29/2025). This program is open to all sectors, including food and beverages, creative and digital industries, communication and information, industry, public sector, tourism, logistics and transport, agriculture and services. “The stage lasted six months. Participants understand the industrial business process through this period not only deeper, but also develop technical skills and soft skills, such as communication, teamwork and problem solving,” he explained. He hopes that the experience gained in partner companies can help graduates build professional networks, increase career opportunities, as well as open the way to recruitment to a full -time post. “This program is also an important bridge between the world of education and the world of work, and is expected to increase the survey of graduates in Indonesia,” he concluded.
