Government subsidy on 91 agricultural implements including trowel, hoe, sickle, application online until October 31

So far, applications from 1123 farmers have been approved for the scheme. The beneficiaries will be selected in a transparent manner through online lottery. Agricultural machinery will get grant, Samastipur. Agricultural mechanization scheme has brought a new hope to the farmers of Samastipur district. Under this scheme, farmers can now buy small agricultural implements like hoes, hoes, sickles as well as other large implements at subsidized rates. A total of 91 types of instruments are included in this scheme, on which the government gives subsidy ranging from 40 to 80 percent. In particular, up to 80% subsidy is available on equipment related to crop residue management. So far, 1799 farmers have applied, of which 1123 applications have been approved. The total sanctioned amount of the scheme is Rs 6 crore 52 lakh 42 thousand which will be helpful in accelerating mechanization in the district. Facility will be provided through online application and transparency. To avail the benefits of this scheme, farmers will have to apply online on OFMS portal of Bihar government. According to Dr. Sumit Saurabh, district agriculture officer, farmers will have to upload documents related to land ownership like LPC or rent receipts of last three years to buy equipment worth more than Rs 20 thousand. However, general application is sufficient for equipment up to Rs 20,000, except pump set. This time, to bring transparency in the scheme, the beneficiaries will be selected through online lottery system, which will eliminate the role of middlemen and the real farmers will get direct benefits. Opportunity for every farmer, non-ryots will also be benefited. Another special thing about this scheme is that non-riot farmers can also benefit from it. In particular, subsidy up to 80% on manual equipment sets is also available for such farmers. For example, farmers will get equipment worth Rs 1,000 for just Rs 200 after the subsidy. Things used in daily farming like trowel, spade, weeder, sickle will now be available at cheaper rates, which will make the work of small and marginal farmers easier.
