Government teachers have demonstrated against compulsory update of Teacher Diary on Mis Portal

Hundreds of teachers from various government schools under the auspices of the Haryana School Lecturer Association (HSLA) conducted a protest march at the Klein Secretariat of Karnal City on Thursday, in which the school education directorate recently protested against the instructions to update their teacher diary on the management information system (MIS) portion. They gathered to express their concerns and submitted a memorandum to an officer of the education department demanding to withdraw the order. The protesting teachers warned that if the instructions were not withdrawn, they would be forced to start a nationwide movement. Ramesh Kumar, district president of the HSLA, argued that maintaining a digital teacher diary on the MIS portal is an impractical and time -consuming task. He said: “The time needed to update the online diary can be used to perform two full teaching periods. This new requirement not only disrupts our teaching hours, but also affects the learning time of students.” Other protesting teachers, including Kumar, emphasized that teachers already have a handwritten diary under their routine, but the change in online format has increased unnecessary burden.
