Governor Sherly reveals the cause of North Maluku's low integrity score
Jakarta – The governor of North Maluku, Sherly Tjoanda Laos, has completed consultations with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Sherly admitted that the corruption prevention score in North Maluku is currently still low or that the Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP) score is red. “Yes, the purpose of my visit is to consult on how to increase the MCP score because currently it is still red,” said Sherly at the Red and White KPK building, South Jakarta on Wednesday (10/22/2025). From the results of this coordination, one cause of the low level of corruption prevention is the large number of documents that have not been uploaded. “So there are documents from the inspectorate that have not been uploaded. Then monitoring for public services of education, health, dukcapil, licensing, there are also documents that have not been uploaded,” he explained. “Basically, out of a total of 660 documents, we still have about 300 documents that have not been uploaded. And we have discussed the obstacles so that everything can be uploaded in time before November 30,” he added. Sherly said today’s consultation with the KPK did not discuss mining. He emphasized that he only discussed the MCP score. “No, it’s more about administration for the MCSP (Monitoring, Controlling, Surveillance for Prevention) score,” he said. Previously, Sherly arrived at KPK Building, Kuningan, South Jakarta at 09.57 WIB. Sherly said she wanted to consult on the Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP) indicators in North Maluku so that the numbers improve. “I want to consult on the readiness of the North Maluku MCP count so that the count is good,” Sherly said on Wednesday (22/10/2025) at the KPK building, Kuningan, South Jakarta. When asked about the case being handled by the KPK and in North Maluku, Sherly again said that she would consult with him today. He said that consultations have been carried out so that North Maluku’s MCP score matches the national level. “Yes, we are going to have this consultation, how to be active so that the MCP score matches the national level,” he said. Separately, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said he would hold a coordination meeting with the North Maluku Provincial Government today. The KPK, he said, continues to provide assistance and oversight to all regional governments. “Today, the Corruption Eradication Committee held a coordination meeting with the government of North Maluku Province. Through coordination and oversight duties, the Corruption Eradication Commission continues to provide assistance and oversight to all regional governments, both at the district/city and provincial levels,” Budi said. The KPK, Budi said, also monitors the budget planning for regional government priority programs. This was done for monitoring, control, surveillance for prevention or MCSP matters. “In addition to monitoring the eight focus areas in MCSP and strategic sectors, the Corruption Eradication Commission also focuses on monitoring planning and budgeting for outstanding and priority programs in regional government,” he said.
