Great action by CI team in Amritsar, consignment of weapons sent from Pakistan; Three smugglers arrested - Isibacked arms smuggled in Amritsar 8 Glock Pistols seized

Three smugglers were arrested, identified as Mahesh Masih, Angrez Singh and Arshdeep Singh. According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, these weapons were for terrorist activities in Punjab. The accused acknowledged that the consignment had been dropped by drone. Police are investigating the case that the consignment was recovered. Jagran correspondent, Amritsar. Counter Intelligence (CI) recovered the consignment of weapons sent by Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI on Saturday afternoon. Eight Glock pistols in the consignment and three smugglers they wear have also been arrested. The DGP has identified the arrested accused as Mahesh alias Ashu Masih, resident of Madi Megha Village of Tarn Taran District, Angrez Singh and Arshdeep Singh, resident of Bhikhiwind, Tarn Taran. Among the weapons seized are three 9 mm pistols and five 30 drill pistols. Eight magazines were also found with him. Police received information that the two accused would deliver a consignment of weapons on a bicycle. On this basis, the police erected a blockade near town Bhuse in Amritsar rural and arrested all three. During the search, eight pistols and eight magazines were restored from their possession. The accused admitted during interrogation that the said consignment was dropped by the Pakistani smugglers in the Indian border a few days ago. Police are trying to find out how many times the three arrested accused have provided weapons in the past. Some suspicious contacts were also found from the cell phones of all three investigated. A case has been registered by police in the state’s special operational cell on this.
