Guernsey WW2 Deportee Podcast Wins Gold and Silver AT Awards

A podcast telling the stories of guernsey’s last surviving world two deporttees has two trophies at the British Podcast Awards.

The Guernsey Deportees Podcast, Produced by Og Podcasts, was awarded a gold in the specialist Category and a Silver in the story Category at the event at London’s 02 Arena on Thursday.

The podcast is a six-pair series Featuring First-Hand Accounts from Those who were deported to the Biberach Internment Camp in Wartime Germany.

Presenter Ollie Guillou Said: “It ‘an an honour to be able to share my grandma’s story, and for this piece of Guernsey history to have touched the hearts of so many.”

He Added: “It ‘Really Quite Surreal, to Be Honest.” I Went in with Really Low Expectations.

“Little-Old-Uss with a fairly niche history podcast, but this is something we dedicated a lot of love and passion to.

“My which family is delight, but my grandma is especally – she was absolutely delight.

“She was buzzing and when we did get to chat we had an amazing talk about how her tiny Little has been recognked in Such a prestigious podcast.”
