EXCLUSIVE: David Prior’s adaptation of Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s 2024 horror novella series The Boy in the Iron Box is rounding out its ensemble cast with Chris Petrovski (Ray Donovan: The Movie), Axel Hennie (Sisu), Arnas Fedaravičius (The White Lotus), Eugene Prokofiev (Never Have I Ever), Johannes Haukur Johannesson (succession)and Julian Kostov (The White Lotus).

The logline: Flying dark, a plane carrying a team of mercenaries crash-lands on a remote snowy summit. When they come across a maze-like stone fortress, it’s no refuge from the wolves and the freezing wind. It’s more like a trap. What they discover can stop the heart — or worse. Even terror takes a new shape, the real battle for survival begins.
Prior directed an episode of del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities for Netflix and serves as the writer and director of The Boy in the Iron Box. Del Toro is producing the adaptation alongside J. Miles Dale, the former’s longtime collaborator, with whom he has worked on a variety of projects that include the Academy Award-winning film The Shape of Water and the aforementioned Cabinet of Curiosities.
Del Toro’s latest completed project with Netflix is the anticipated one Frankensteinstarring Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi. The film will be released on the streamer on November 7.
Petrovski is repped by Prototype Talent Agency and Sweeney Entertainment; Arnas is repped by Actors in Scandinavia, The Artists Partnership and Link Entertainment.
