The Godown initially had a license to store fireworks, but it expired on December 31 due to certain decline, including safety issues, said an official familiar with the case. The Gujarat government has already ordered a special investigative team (Sit) to investigate the incident. The sitting is led by Bhavin Pandya, secretary, land and reforms, income division. The team also contains Vishalkumar Vaghela, Deputy Inspector General of Gandhinagar police, HP Sanghavi, director of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Gandhinagar and JA Gandhi, Chief Engineer, Roads and Buildings.
