Gus Ipul visits Karawang Social Health Centre, assures that BLTS is right on target
Jakarta – Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) visited the Special Margakaya Social Welfare Center (Puskesos) in Karawang to ensure that the distribution of Temporary Direct Cash Assistance (BLTS) is right on target. This visit is also the first step to strengthen the accuracy of social data so that it is in line with the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN). The Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono, Director General of Social Empowerment of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Mira Riyati Kurniasih, and Deputy Regent of Karawang Maslani also attended this visit. “The deputy minister and I, accompanied by the deputy regent, entered the room (Puskesos), there were very neat files, family data for each RT. Then which data was deemed to meet the criteria and which no longer met the criteria,” says Gus Ipul in a written statement, Tuesday (21/10/2025). This information passed the verification stage directly in the field. Gus Ipul hopes that the Margakaya Special Health Center system can be processed and validated by BPS so that it is integrated with the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN). In this way, data between the Karawang Regency Government and the Ministry of Social Affairs will be in harmony in the distribution of aid. He explained that DTSEN has a ranking system such as deciles 1 to 4. If the data from the Special Margakaya Social Health Center collected by Mrs. Indri is sent to BPS, it will be verified, validated and remeasured. “So there’s deciles 1, 2, 3, 4. Well, that’s where our data will be more accurate because we’ve got the latest data from the Social Health Center here. The data here already has photos, there’s already the condition of the house, then you can also look at the assets,” he added. Gus Ipul emphasized that data accuracy is very crucial to ensure that social assistance is right on target. Harmonized data is also the foundation for integration of various cross-agency programs, from the Ministry of Social Affairs to regional governments. He emphasized the importance of program integration and stated that he will work with Karawang Regency as a pilot location. “Why Kerawang Regency? It happens to be one of the regencies where almost all sub-districts and towns already have social health centers. This is something that deserves my appreciation and respect for the Kerawang Regency government,” said Gus Ipul. Furthermore, his visit to the Special Margakaya Social Health Center was aimed at strengthening data accuracy, so that BLTS distribution of IDR 300 thousand per month was really on target. This assistance is President Prabowo Subianto’s policy for the 2025 Social Protection Program through the Ministry of Social Affairs which is provided for three months at a time, namely October, November and December, as part of the economic stimulus strategy. BLTS will reach 35.04 million beneficiary families (KPM). If calculated with an average of four members per family (father and mother and 2 children), this assistance will reach an estimated 140 million people. Acem, a BPNT beneficiary, told Gus Ipul that he received assistance totaling IDR 600 thousand. This aid is usually collected collectively from the sub-district office and distributed by PT Post. “Did you receive IDR 600 thousand? Did you not deduct it? Did you receive it in full?” Gus Ipul asked Acem. “Intact, sir, not diminished,” replied Acem. With the addition of BLTS, Acem will receive total assistance of IDR 1.5 million, consisting of IDR 600 thousand regular social assistance and IDR 900 thousand BLTS. It is hoped that this assistance can alleviate daily life needs more optimally. “When can it be collected? Those via Himbara have started to be sent in phases. Meanwhile, the PT Pos-one usually starts with notification by the PSM, by the operator, or by the companion, or by the town. Later information will be given and after that it will be distributed,” explains Gus Ipul. (acd/ega)
