Seven Indian defense companies offered bids for India’s ambitious fifth generation Advanced Multipurpose Fighter Aircraft (AMCA) project. Hal, L&T, Adani Defense, Tata Advanced Systems Limited, Kalyani Strategic Systems and two other private sector companies offered bids to cooperate with the Defense Research and Development Organizations Organization (DRDO). Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) Interest letter (EOI) ended on September 30. The move aims to develop a stealth fighter plane. The project is planned to include the Indian Air Force within the next six years. The Ministry of Defense confirmed that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Adani Defense, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (Tasl) and Kalyani strategic systems are among the businesses involved in the races. According to the EOI issued by the Prototype and Production Time Limit Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), the selected development partner is expected to prepare a fully competent prototype within eight years. This leads to the first flight time limit in the early 2030s, while serial production will begin by 2035.
