Hamas seems to be tracing back to critical aspects of President Donald Trump’s ceasefire for Gaza, a few hours after the world celebrated the release of all 20 living hostages. A top Hamas official stated that the group would not give up his weapons or give up control of the Gaza Strip. Hazem Qassem, spokesperson for a prisoner to Israeli terms, “told Al-Arabiya on Monday:” We do not need to limit ourselves to the Israeli terms and definitions associated with weapons. We will not be prisoners for the next stage of the Israeli terms or claims. This is one of the focal points of the struggle in the next stage, after discontinuing aggression in the Gaza strip. ‘Qassem has confirmed Hamas’ long -standing position that the group will maintain its weapons and management over Gaza until a path for Palestinian state hijacking is set out. Trump’s 20-point plan and hostages release Trump’s Peace Plan, which facilitated the release of all hostages on Monday, contains provisions for how Gaza should be controlled once Hamas Cedes Control. However, details of implementation remain unresolved. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly rejected any agreement that can lead to a Palestinian state, emphasizing that Hamas must disarm that the ceasefire must remain valid. Hamas is open to a limited administrative role, despite the resistance to the full disarmament and loss of control, and pointed out that Hamas can allow Palestinian technocrats to manage parts of the Gaza Strip, in accordance with Trump’s ceasefire. He also proposed a potential role for the Palestinian Authority (PA) in the West Bank management. “Despite all our criticism, we believe it (the father) is one of the national addresses, and we are ready to open a new page with it, or to open a new page with the residents of Gaza and with the political powers and to be truly sincere in the intention to achieve shared political understanding,” Qassem said.
