He moved to Indonesia in 1976, where he founded a small steel business, known today as Arcelor Mittal, the world’s second largest steel manufacturer. In 2004, Mittal Steel was founded after the Merder of Steel International and LNM Holdings and the International Steel Group at the same time. Shortly thereafter, in 2006, Mittal Steel began a bidding with the Arcelor, which led to the creation of Arcelor Mittal. He was also honored with several steel development awards.
