The Himachal Pradesh High Court refused to cancel the FIR filed against Proctor and Gamble (P&G) in a case related to fraud through the patent view of an Indian investigator commercially utilized. On the complaint of Rajiv Rai Sachdev, the fir, filed in January 2024, claimed that P&G invited him to work together by offering a patent innovation as part of its ‘connect + development program’. Mr. Sachdev, represented by senior lawyer Ashok Kumar with lawyer Jeevesh Mehta and established Dalmiya, claimed to have shared an ownership method to color clothes using and Holy Basil extracts – a technique he patented in India, America and Europe. Although P&G later expressed anorexia in a formal partnership, Mr. Sachdev claims that the company allegedly launched a product – Whipper Ultra Clean (with herbal oil) using the technology provided by Mr. Sachdev was offered. The innovator said he sent a notice to the company on May 13, 2022 in which he violated his patent and brand. In response, P&G argued that the process used in their product was completely different and did not violate the patent method. Share this story -tags
