Highlights Three premature deaths due to administrative negligence, the Construction Work Service Road became the reason for the jam, despite the instructions of the Supreme Court, lethargy and negligence Mithilesh Gupta Indore/ Dewas. The area of about 8 kilometers from Arjun Barod to Dakachya on the National Highway (AB road) is no less than a disaster area these days. The rain, incomplete construction work and the negligence of the administration together created such a jam, which seems to be fatal. Three people have died over the past 48 hours due to continuous traffic jam. This jam was not only an obstacle to the wheels of the vehicles, but a bitter image of the system’s insensitivity and administrative failure. This jam, which started early Thursday, remained the same until Friday night. During this time, the News18 team went to the ground and got to know the soil reality. In this part of four kilometers, people took six to eight hours. The vehicles were seen crawling. Ambulances, school buses, patients of patients and ordinary people were helpless. Jam took three lives, suffered and lost his life, the first death was Kamal Panchal, 62, a farmer from Indore. He went out to join the thirteenth of the sister. He suffered a heart attack because he was stuck in the jam for hours and died before reaching the hospital. The second death died of Balram Patel, 55, of Shujalpur. The family brought him to Indore for treatment. Two oxygen cylinders were brought together, but both ended in the jam and died before reaching the hospital. The third death of Gari Pipalya’s Sandeep Patel, 32, who left for the chest pain to the hospital. One continued to change from one side to the other, but everywhere the jam stops its breath. When the News18 team reached the place, the silence of the system and the screaming of the public, they saw that four policemen were present in the name of the control of traffic. There was no crane or JCB or medical emergency facility or any auxiliary system. The residents were unable to drive car and now sell samosas, tea, water. The highway was closed due to the construction work of Mangalia Rob and Arjunab Flyover. The service was the only option, but there were ropes of mud, seed and trapped vehicles. Local administration and Nhai were completely unsuccessful. The Supreme Court warning was also ineffective on November 14, 2023, and the Supreme Court ordered Nhai to improve the bypass within a month, but even after seven months the condition remains the same. The work of Arjunab Flyover would be completed by July 2024, but so far only 40% of the work has been done. Does a case of culpable homicide become a case? There were three deaths. The question arises that when the officers had an idea that the work in the monsoon would slow down and the traffic would increase, why did alternative arrangements not make? Doesn’t this negligence fall under the category of culpable homicide? The News18 team saw that the staff of the traffic police were making videos and talking among themselves instead of handling traffic on the road. No helpline, no assistance team, not even an ambulance in jam. Officers do not have the answer, Nhai and PWD officials call the Stone Crusher. But is it such a pangs administration that could not arrange for four km for Boulder and Ballast? Even Friday night, the jam did not end completely. The responsibility of those who have lost their lives must be corrected. Otherwise, this system will continue to take the lives of people even further.
