The caves of Ajanta and Ellora in Maharashtra are unesco -world heritage. The paintings and sculptures here reflect the ancient Buddhist, Hindu and Jain traditions of India. Badami caves from Karnataka are from the sixth and seventh centuries. It is an incredible example of Chalukya art to carve into the walls. Elephanta caves near Mumbai are dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Trimurti god made in it gives a great portrayal of the three forms of Shiva. The Undavalli caves of Andhra Pradesh are known for their tranquil environment and beautiful architecture. Udayagiri and Kandagiri caves from Odisha are a group of about 33 caves. Tiger caves from Madhya Pradesh are associated with Buddhism.
