Hong Kong Open: Satvik-Chirag pair reaches semi-finals
Hong Kong, September 12 (IANS). India’s Top -Men’s Double -Pair Satvik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty came to the semi -finals of Hong Kong. The Indian pair made the Hong Kong semi -finals Open Super 500 Badminton tournament on Friday with a win over Arif Junaidi and Roy King Yap of Malaysia. The world map, which recently won a bronze medal at the BWF World Championships, won 21-14, 20-22, 21-16 in the 64-minute quarterfinals. The Indian pair started the game vigilant and sharpened the first match 21-14 with Big Smash. The Malaysian pair put the Indian pair under pressure by demonstrating impressive defensive skills in the second game. The second game, which was exciting, was mentioned by the Malaysian pair 22-20. In the third game, Satvik and Chirag performed aggressive plays and won 21-16 and won the match in their favor. With this victory, the Indian pair entered the second consecutive Super 500 semi -finals and strengthened their position as one of the most successive double teams of the track. Now they will tackle Chinese Taipei’s Chenn Cheng Kuan and Lynn Bing-Vai to reach the final. Earlier, Lakshya won the quarterfinals in a difficult match over compatriot Ayush Shetty. The 22-year-old Sen won 21-16, 17–21 21-13, with patience and experience in a stressful match. Shetty made and won a tremendous return in the second game.
