Hooray! Take the Tayo & Si Benteng bus in Tangerang free during the Republic of Indonesia

Jakarta -In the anniversary of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day, the Tangerang City government eliminated the Tayo bus and Angkot Si Benteng Services on August 17, 2025. Multi Trip Card Services (KMT) can also officially be used for KRL Commuter line and Trans Tangerang Bus (Bus Tayo). “The journey is becoming more practical. Only one card, KRL and Tayo bus can take. It will help students, workers and the general public in daily activities,” said Mayor of Tangerang, Sachrudin, Friday (8/8/2025). It was unveiled while signing the collaboration between PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI), PT Nusantara Global Innovation (NGI) and Pt Tangerang Nusantara Global (TNG). Students of the elementary, junior and high school can take the Tayo and Angkot Si Benteng bus for free if they go off school. Until the end of June, more than 12,000 students used this program. “We want to make sure every child can go safely and without the burden of transport costs,” Sachrudin said. Meanwhile, Muhammad Rijal, director of PT Tangerang Nusantara Global, said that all the 40 Tayo bus fleet units are now ready to accept payments with KMT. “Now KMT can not only be used to drive KRL, but also for Tayo bus in Tangerang City. The entire fleet received KMT payments effectively,” he explained. As part of the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia’s anniversary, Rijal also announced that the Tayo and Si Benteng bus service will be free on 17 August 2025. “We want to give small prices to residents. So, use this service for free,” he said. On the other hand, the director of operations and marketing of PT KCI, Brother Rizal, emphasized that this collaboration was aimed at expanding transportation connection in the supporting area of the capital. “The city of Tangerang is an important part of our connectivity network. This collaboration will easily facilitate community mobility,” he concluded. For information, KMT can be purchased from all KRL stations in Tangerang City.
