Silence stopped in the parliament of Sierra Leone in memory of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack
Freetown, May 29 (IANS). The parliamentary delegation of the Indian All -Party, led by Shiv Sena MP Sanrikanth Shinde, reached Sierra Leone on Thursday. On this occasion, a minute’s silence was held in the Parliament of Sierra Leone on April 22 in memory of 26 tourists who died in the Pahalgam terror attack. The parliament of Sierra Leon, with strong relations between the two countries, held this silence on Thursday in memory of the Pahalgam terror attack victims. An All -Party Composition from India led by Shiv Sena MP Sfrikanth Eknath Shinde reached his visit to the West African country. The Indian delegation thanked the speakers and MPs of the country for his special move for friendship and solidarity in India’s fight against terrorism. The delegation also met Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Muana Breima Masakwoi, informed him of the strategic ease of India in campaigns against anti -terrorism and also told of India’s zero tolerance to terrorism. The delegation is to Sierra Leone on a two-day visit to underline India’s firm commitment to combat all forms and manifestations of terrorism and include its widespread efforts to include the international community to ensure regional and global peace and stability. The Yatra is part of the diplomatic initiative launched by the Government of India following the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and killed 26 innocent citizens. Indian representative reached Freetown after successfully completing his mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he underlined India’s zero tolerance and new normal approach to terrorism with Congo negotiators. During her visit to Sierra Leone, the Indian delegation will hold a high level of the senior leaders of the Republic, which will include the Vice President, the Speaker of Parliament, the MP, the Minister of Parliament, the Minister of International Cooperation and National Security Coordinator of Sierra Leone. “As part of his public contact, the delegation will deal with mainstream media representatives in Sierra Leon and deal with members of the diaspora, which will confirm the Indian government’s commitment to their citizens abroad,” the Indian High Commission in Freetown said. The statement reads: “There are melodic and friendly relations based on shared democratic values, south-south cooperation and a similar approach to the safe and prosperous future. The journey is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations and promote deep strategic understanding between the two countries,” the statement says.
