Annamayya District Superintendent of Police BK Krishna Rao said Ganesh, 24, a resident of Madanpalla, attacked the girl on Friday at about 7am in the parampalli town Gurrakonda division. At the time of the incident, the girl’s parents went to take care of the cattle. SP B. Krishna Rao said: “The girl was recently engaged and told Ganesh that she no longer wants to be in a relationship with her.” The SP said the girl called Ganesh home for a conversation in the morning. Ganesh met him with the whole plan and both became an argument during the meeting. He said that Ganesh had attacked him with a knife in the meantime. He was then attacked with acid. According to police, the accused escaped and a police team was formed to look for him. Meanwhile, police have acknowledged the injured girl in a Bengaluru hospital for better treatment after first aid at the local level. SP B. Krishna Rao said that the girl was stabbed seven times and that she was scorched badly in the acid attack. Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, condemned the attack, officials instructed to take strict action against the attackers.
