The arrested youth Ubaid Mehdi is a resident of Canisail locality in the Karimganj district. He was arrested on Wednesday from a bus stop in Cachar, a neighborhood in Karimganj. Police resources claim that Ubaid, who used Rahul’s name on Facebook, had a relationship with a woman living in Cachar. She is accused of making several inappropriate recording of the girl while having a relationship. Sources claim that the accused later placed the footage on social media when she wanted to end the relationship. The complaint of the incident was made at the Silchar police station six months ago. Police were unable to arrest Ubaid as he was in Dubai at the time. His father is the owner of a business there. According to a policeman, the accused recently returned to India.
