New -Delhi, May 21 (IANS). The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) took note of the arrest and supervision of Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad of the University of Ashoka, Haryana. The commission wrote a letter to the Director General of the Haryana (DGP) police in which they want to seek a detailed report on the whole case within a week. The arrest of Professor Mahmudabad was expressed by various human rights organizations and academics, after which NHRC took the whole case seriously. Meanwhile, the NHRC member Priyank Kanungo made it clear that he did not write this letter. He spoke to the Ians news agency and said that this letter was sent by his institute. He also informed that according to Article 36 of the Human Rights Act, if the State Rights Commission has already noted in a state, the National Commission cannot take the same case again. During this time, Priyank was seen distance from Kanungo Ians and made no detailed statement in public. However, he made it clear that this letter was not written on his behalf. Explain that Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad is accused of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and Indian army officer Colonel Sofia Qureshi and the Air Force wing commander Vyomika Singh of offensive remarks.
