Spotify removes fake podcast pages that promote online prescription medicine sales: Report | Today news

Spotify began the removal of numerous false podcast pages that promoted the illegal sale of prescription drugs, including Adderall and Oxycodone, after the investigation of a news store marked the content. The podcasts, which are displayed as legal health or comedy shows according to the CNN investigation report, have instructed users on questionable online pharmacies -many of which claim to sell highly addictive medication without requiring a prescription, a violation of US law. The news store reported that a search for ‘adderall’ on Spotify podcasts entitled ‘My Adderall Store’ and others with similar explicit names showed up. These pages often contain links to websites that allegedly offered Adderall, Vicodin, Methadone, Ambien and more – often needed without any prescription. It is a developing story. Come and see updates.
