Bihar News Bihar Agricultural University of Bhagalpur will now grow potato seeds in the air with its new technology. Currently, this experiment has begun in Nursarai, the Horticultural College, Nalanda attached to Bau. If the use of aeroponics technology in 16 agricultural science centers is successful, farmers will get more than 30 percent of potato production. Lalan Tiwari, Bhagalpur. Potato farming with aeroponics has developed India to realize the hypothesis of 2047, Bihar took a great step of agriculture innovation. For the first time, a modern process of preparing potato seed in Bihar in Bihar has been started. This experiment is underway at Nurarai Udyan College in Nalanda under Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour. The University’s vice -chancellor announced the project on Independence Day and expressed the confidence of the surface results in three months. Experts believe that aeroponic technology will increase potato production by more than 30 percent and that farmers will get high quality diseases. With this, Bihar’s potatoes will also be able to make their mark in the international market. Dr Randhir Kumar, chief scientist and principal of the unit project at a cost of 4.20 crores, said a seed production unit based on aeroponic method was set up at a cost of 4 crore 20 lakhs. It is prepared with virus -free seed tissue culture technology. In this technique, the plant hangs in the air while the roots remain. In a controlled environment, 400 to 500 mini tubers are prepared in a plant using cold air, moisture and nutrients. Large potatoes are produced by planting them in the fields. Seed production cycle Seed production process from G-0 to G-4 will continue from G-0 to G-4. So far, G-0 seeds had to be ordered from the outside, but all this will be ready here with new technology. Thousands of new plants can also be developed from a plant with apical root clipping technique. It is estimated that potato crops prepared with this technology will start shaking the farmers’ fields in the next three years. The expansion to 16 Krishi Vigyan Kendras will be expanded in 16 Krishi Vigyan Kendras in Bihar. For this, approval was also received to build a net house. The use of this seed production has also begun in farmers’ fields. The scheme continues quickly with a water-life-Haryali campaign under the seven decision scheme of the main minister. The unit was erected in Nalanda College. Potato seed production was started according to aeroponic method. Disease -free seeds will be expanded with the participation of Krishi Vigyan Kendras and farmers. In the coming time, this seed will be available to the farmers so that they will become rich.
