Dakota Johnson says Madame Web failed due to studio: 'Creative decisions are made by the committee without creative leg' | Mint

Actor Dakota Johnson expressed the failure of the box office of ‘Madame Web’ and said she had little control over the final product and blamed the decision -makers behind the scenes. Dakota Johnson spoke to the Los Angeles Times for her emerging movie ‘Materialists’ during the Per Tour, saying:’ It wasn’t my fault. There is this thing that is happening now where many creative decisions are made by the committee. Or made by people who do not have a creative leg in their body. And it’s really hard to make art. Or to make something entertaining. ‘ She explained that the project changed direction during the production: ‘Madame Web’ started it as something and became something else. And at that point I was just some kind of ride. But it happens. Great budget films fail all the time. ‘ Despite the poor receipt of the film, Johnson insists that she regret. She added: ‘I don’t have a band aid about it. There is no part of me like ‘oh, I will never do it again’. I even did little films that didn’t do well. Who cares? ‘ Johnson previously told Bustle that she believes in the power of creative vision, not data. ‘You can’t make art based on numbers and algorithms … audiences are exceptionally smart, and managers have begun to believe that they are not. Audiences will always be able to sniff. ‘ About ‘Madame Web’ ‘Madame Web’ is the fourth installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU), starring Dakota Johnson.
