Illegal Madrasa built on government land in Panna, Madhya Pradesh

In an important development after the implementation of the WAQF Act, action has been taken against an illegally built Madrasa at government land in BD colony, the most important area of the city. This action was taken by officials of the Panna district of Madhya Pradesh. This action was taken after a formal complaint was handed over to BJP State President Vishnu Dutt Sharma, claiming that the Madrasa was not only built on government land, but that it was also used for illegal or ‘anti-national’ activities. Based on the complaint, the authorities acted immediately, after which the local administration issued orders to demolish it. According to sources, the Madrasa was long underway despite several objections and complaints from the locals. However, no concrete steps have been taken until now. The recent action created a sharp response to the community and gave a clear message about the government’s intention to take action against illegal offenses and suspected institutions. The government’s land is being abused for illegal objectives: Sharma said in his statement that Vishnu Dutt Sharma, “we have received complaints that the government’s land is being abused for illegal objectives under the guise of Madrasa. Strict action is needed in such cases to maintain law and order.” The district president of the Waqf Council and the original complainant Abdul Hameed claims that the Madrasa is operated by an outsider named Abdul Rauf Qadri, who allegedly focused on the ground and used it for suspicious activities. “It was not just an illegal structure, but a center of suspicious activities. The authorities must act,” he said. Share this story -Tags
