Illegal Online Beddings: Ed grabs gold worth more than Rs 50 Crore

Bengaluru, October 9 (IANS). The Bengaluru Zonal office of the Directorate for Enforcement (ED) took major steps on Wednesday in the case of the public through illegal online bets. During the search operation, Ed seized gold worth Rs 50 crore of two cupboards. The maintenance directorate did the search during the judicial custody of the chief accused, Chitradurga District Mla KC Veerendra, from where the ED 24 carat repaired gold, which weighs 40 kg worth Rs 50.33 crore. With this action, the total asset that has so far been seized by ED in the illegal online betting case has crossed Rs 150 crore. The ED previously seized assets worth Rs 103 crore in the form of about 21 kg of gold bars, cash, gold and silver jewelry, bank accounts and expensive vehicles. ED Investigation revealed that innocent players are cheated by creating false accounts in the name King567, Raja567, etc. ED examination revealed that KC Veendra collaborators used the money received from online betting to discuss international travel tickets, visas and other services worth value. In addition, expenses such as marketing and platform hosting were also paid by these amounts. The ED investigation has also revealed the Nexus of Online Reduction Dapps with cases of cybercrime across India, where mules were created in the name of individuals in exchange for small amounts of money.
