Islamabad, April 18 (IANS). Arshad Khan, ‘Chaiwala’ of Islamabad, who once became an internet sensation overnight, now has legal problems. He fights for his identity as a Pakistani citizen. He is afraid to be deported to Afghanistan soon. Photos of this ‘Chaiwala’ with attractive blue eyes have been panicked on social media and Khan gained global fame. However, the 25 -year -old youth is now forced to spend most of his time in local courts. The authorities blocked its National Identity Card (NIC) and the Pakistani Passport. Khan contested his Nic and Passport Blocking in the Rawalpindi Bank of the Lahore High Court. The next trial of the case is on April 22. In fact, the National Database and Registration Authority of Pakistan (NADRA) has submitted an answer to seek more time of intelligence agencies to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter. Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) said Arshad Khan alias Chaiwala is an Afghan citizen. He also said that he was born in Afghanistan and that he had no legal proof that he was a Pakistani citizen. The report of both agencies said that “no foreign national is entitled to keep or favor Pakistani identity documents such as CNIC or Passport.” In addition, officials of the Nadra said that before 1978, Arshad Khan did not prove his identity, birth, residence or property ownership in Pakistan. Nadra officials said because no evidence was provided, the CNIC and Passport of Arshad Khan and Passport were canceled. A legal notice was also sent to Arshad, in which instructions were given to leave Pakistan. In the petition that Arshad Khan filed, he said he had sold tea in Islamabad. It has been argued that his reputation was damaged by cancellation of their identity documents. -Ians mk/ share this story tags
