'Out of context': Pratik Gandhi surprised by the allegations of cabinets representation against Phule | Mint

Actor Pratik Gandhi responded to the constant controversy surrounding his upcoming film Phule. The film, based on the life of Jyotirao Govindrao Phule and Savitribai Phule, received criticism from part of society, including the Brahmin community after the launch of the trailer. The controversy resulted in the producers postponing the film. Pratik Gandhi comments on the reaction of the Brahmin community to Phule talking about it, and Pratik urged the Brahmin community not to judge Phule based on the trailer. The film was recently directed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to make various changes to the controversy. Pratik, who has not yet seen the final track of Phule, told Pti: “I shot somewhere when I got to know that it (the film) was printed with two weeks. I was disappointed. But then I talked to them (makers) and I got to know the reasons of it … was the 197th birth anniversary of Jyotirao Phule. As for the film, without changing or harming the film, whatever was done, what I told. “Pratik Gandhi about Phule controversy” There was also a sudden (riot by a) set of people who felt it was against them or their ideology. The film was written by Mahadevan and Muazzam Beg, and produced by Zee Studios, Dancing Shiva Films and Kingsmen Productions. The film is now released on April 25, 2025.
