According to India Cellular and Electronics Association, India’s export of smartphones crossed Rs 1.75 Lakh Crore ($ 21 billion) in 11 months from 2024-25 (April February), which is 54 percent higher than the same figure of the same period of 2023-24. Apple’s iPhone in Tamil Nadu was about 70 percent in the export of Foxconn unit that produces, while 50 percent in foreign shipping. In the past financial year, the export of Foxconn’s iPhone factory has had an increase of more than 40 percent. The export seller of the other 22 percent iPhone comes from Tata Electronics, which acquired the Wistron Smartphone Factory in Karnataka. The other 12 percent export consignment comes in Tamil Nadu through Pagatron function, with Tata Electronics 60 percent at the end of January. With the acquisition of two Taiwanese companies, the Tata group emerged as a large producer of iPhones in the country. South Korean company Samsung has a stake in total exports of nearly 20 percent. Vaishnav said earlier that he hoped that the export of smartphones would amount to $ 20 billion (Rs 1.68 Lakh crore) during 2024-25, but the estimate exceeded the 11 months of FY 25.
