Petroleum Minister Lokpobiri is asking for new NNPCL management to promote the Nigerian oil sector

The Minister of Petroleum Resources (oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, has instructed the newly appointed management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to ensure the promotion of the country’s oil sector. This is even when he is Mr. Ahmadu Musa Kida welcomed as chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), along with Engr. Bashir Bayo OJULARI as the Group Chief Executive (GCEO) and other newly appointed management members. The minister communicated this in a statement signed on Thursday by Nneamaka Okafor, his special adviser on media and communications. He emphasized that bringing a new leadership “is an important step in repositioning the NNPCL further to meet the demands of the developing global energy landscape.” Senator Lokpobiri said. “With the wealth of experience and expertise that Mr Ahmadu Musa Kida, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, and the management members, I am confident that NNPCL will drive significant progress in achieving our national energy goals.” The minister confirmed the Ministry of Petroleum Resources’ commitment to cooperation with NNPCL’s leadership to fulfill his mandate. He also called on stakeholders, investors and industry partners to support the new management team in promoting the oil and gas sector in Nigeria. “I urge all stakeholders to meet behind this new leadership, while working together to improve the production capacity, optimize value on the petroleum value chain and ensure a sustainable future for the sector,” he added. It will be remembered that President Bola Tinubu has the NNPCL board verification, which fired the entire board and CEO, Mele Kyari. New appointments have been made in the place.
