‘I’m taking dream trip with female friend, I don’t know why my wife is upset’

A man has revealed his wife is barely speaking to him after he organized a pricey trip away with his female best friend – and is confused as to why she’s so upset she’s not been included

A man has been branded an ‘idiot’ after revealing he’s taking his female best friend on a lavish trip – and leaving his upset wife at home.

Going by the false name Dylan online, he revealed he had forked out on pricey Formula 1 tickets and flights for himself and friend Angie as it was her ‘favourite’ sport, while his wife Emily was totally left out of the plans and now giving him the cold shoulder.

While he blasted his wife for being ‘insecure’, he doesn’t understand why she wanted to join the pair on the trip as it was something he’d organized with his pal since they were teenagers.

Dylan thought he’d got the ideal set up, even his wife Emily had been ‘totally fine’ about his female best friend Angie, who was even the ‘grooms woman’ at their wedding and introduced the pair when they first met nine years ago.

“I’ve been friends with Angie since we were 15 years old. When we were still teenagers, she picked up smoking from her friends, but she didn’t do it much and said she knew the risks and wanted to stop,” he detailed in a Reddit post as reported by subwayand said as an ‘encouragement’ to make her stop he made her a deal.

“We both share a love of cars and motorsports, so the deal was that if she never picked up a cigarette again, I would fly us out to and get grandstand tickets for her favorite F1 race,” and noted that his wife Emily had “always known” about the pact. But then 15 years on from the deal, Dylan finally had the ‘money and time’ to book the trip.

However it seemed as if Emily had forgotten the details of the pact, as Dylan said: “I had always thought it was known that the trip was going to be just me and Angie as per the deal we made ages ago. I mentioned (it) and my wife had zero problems with it. Then a couple days ago my wife mentions how she’s so excited for the trip and I gently let her know that I have only booked two tickets for the race and flights.”

But even Emily got upset about it, he said he was ‘confused’ as he thought it was clear the trip was just for himself and Angie. As the race tickets were then sold out, Emily then suggested her hubby could buy a third plane ticket and she could still go on part of the trip, but he wasn’t willing to foot the costs on the exclusive trip.

“I’m not inclined to do that as, and I know this sounds childish, but this was a me and Angie thing since we made the deal. My wife seems really upset about this and is barely talking to me. The one time we have seen Angie since then she was very cold towards her. I don’t know if she doesn’t trust me or if it’s because of some insecurity.”

Even though he is upset by his wife’s reaction to the plans, fellow Reddit users weren’t impressed with his actions, with many quick to call him an idiot, and others slamming him for being ‘inappropriate’.
