Hafizullah, resident of Mamapur Takiya village of Dewa Kotwali, brutally killed his stepdaughter, 17-year-old Zoya Bano, by stabbing her with a knife and slitting her throat around 12 noon on Thursday night. Zoya was the daughter of Zubaida, the second wife of accused Hafizullah. Zubaida told that on Thursday night, Zoya Bano slept in a room along with her step-sister Chanda, Sonam, Khushboo and Hafizullah. Zubaida says that at the time of the incident, everyone in the house woke up after hearing the sound and went near the room and saw that Hafizullah was holding a knife in his hand. Zoya Bano lay dead in a pool of blood. Zubaida immediately informed the incident to Deva police. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took the accused to the police station. Kotwal Ajay Kumar Tripathi says Hafizullah, who committed the murder, has been sent to jail. The body has been sent for postmortem. The reason for the murder is not yet known. People describe Hafizullah as a criminal, even before this Hafizullah committed many incidents. It is said that Zubaida’s first marriage was to Riyaz, from whom she had three sons and three daughters. Zubaida’s second marriage was to Hafizullah, with whom she had three daughters.
