There was a love affair between the two and they also ran away from home earlier. They came back after police pressure, but then they took this fatal step. On Monday afternoon, a loving couple committed suicide by consuming poison in Hussainpur Sultan village of Kiratpur. The woman was the mother of two children while the young man was unmarried. 37-year-old Aarti woman Jagmohan, resident of Hussainpur Sultan village, went missing from home on Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Lalit’s son Jograj informed his home by phone that he and Aarti had consumed poison and were lying in the sugarcane field. When the family members reached the farm, both were found unconscious. Lalit’s bike was parked outside the field. The police took both of them to the Medical College Hospital. Both died during treatment. The police have sent the bodies for postmortem. According to the police, Aarti and Lalit had a love affair for a long time. Both of them ran away from home on October 1. The woman’s family members filed a kidnapping report against Lalit. Both of them appeared at the police station on October 15 under pressure from the police. Pushpa Devi, head of the police station, said that based on Aarti’s statement, she was sent along with her husband. Lalit was also released. Aarti has an 11-year-old daughter Kanika and eight-year-old son Shiv. Lalit used to work in Haridwar.
